Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi officials have reportedly signed an agreement with global architectural design firm Populous for the building of King Salman Sports City in Baghdad, with total investments of SAR 1.5 billion ($400 million), according to Makkah newspaper.

Under the agreement, a stadium similar to the stadium of the English football club of Tottenham Hotspur will be built in the Iraqi capital, with the constructions start in June.

The new stadium will have the capacity of 85,000 football fans, the newspaper added.

In February, an official delegation from Saudi Arabia visited the two proposed sites for establishing a sports city in Baghdad.

The first site was located in the city of Al-Rashid, while the second location was in Rustamiyah, the official added, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
