Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session in red territory.

The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 1.53%, finishing the session at 13,905.73 points.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went down 0.24% to close at 620.65 points, while the broader EGX100 index declined by 0.46% to 1,576 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index decreased by 1.2% to close at 2,112 points.

Market capitalisation plunged by about EGP 7 billion to EGP 761.8 billion from EGP 768.8 billion on Sunday.

Trading volume registered nearly 124.77 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.003 billion through around 16,200 transactions.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 140 million and EGP 4.6 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 144.6 million.
