Eurozone growth picks up steam in Q1

Mubasher: Initial data suggested that gross domestic product (GDP) in the Eurozone rose by 0.4% and by 0.5% in the 28-member European Union (EU28) in the first quarter of 2019.

Growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2018 rose by 0.2% in both of the Eurozone and the EU28, flash estimates published on Wednesday by the Eurozone’s statistical office, the Eurostat, revealed.

On an annual basis, GDP grew by 1.2% in the Eurozone in Q1-19, and 1.5% in the EU28, the same increases recorded in Q4-18, according to the data.
