Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in red territory.
The benchmark EGX30 index dropped by 1.53%, finishing the session at 13,809.46 points.
Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went down 0.89% to close at 615.5 points, while the broader EGX100 index slid 0.99% to 1,563.83 points.
Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index retreated 2.33% to close at 2,076.5 points.
Trading volume recorded nearly 77.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 454 million through about 13,400 transactions.
Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 22.4 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 5.3 million and EGP 17.1 million, respectively.
Market capitalisation lost about EGP 10.7 billion to EGP 755.7 billion.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell by 0.98% to EGP 71.55 at a turnover of EGP 42.3 million.
