Dubai’s CPI marks 5M-low in April

Dubai – Mubasher: The consumer price index (CPI) in the emirate of Dubai has fallen for the fifth month in a row by 2.9% to in April, compared to a slump of 3.6% in March, data released by Dubai Statistics Center (DSC) showed.

The CPI recorded 107.53 points last April, versus 110.71 points during the same month of 2018, according to DSC.

Prices in the ready-made clothing and footwear segment dropped by 6.8% and prices in the housing, water, and electric utilities dwindled by 6.28%.

Meanwhile, prices in the consumer goods sector tumbled 3.5%, while prices in the food and beverage segment and the healthcare services slipped 0.52% and 0.30%, respectively, the state-run statistics agency added.
