TASI drops 97 pts; Nomu in red at Sunday’s close
Trading value shrank to SAR 2.67 billion

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday’s trading session in the red territory after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell by 96.63 points, or 1.12%, to 8,525.22 points.

TASI’s traded volume retreated to 101.36 million shares on Sunday, compared to 137.22 million on Thursday, while the market’s trading value shrank to SAR 2.67 billion from SAR 4.49 billion in the previous session.

The pharmaceuticals sector led decliners and slid 6.5%, while the real estate and healthcare sectors dropped by 2.9% and 2.8%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the basic materials sector declined by 1.7%, whereas the telecommunications and banking sectors went down 0.8% and 0.34%, respectively.

On the other hand, the consumer durables sector rose by 0.07%.

Ash-Sharqiyah Development’s stock headed fallers with 3.4%, while Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company’s (SAFCO) stock topped gainers and added 1.6%.

Al Rajhi Bank’s stock spearheaded TASI in terms of turnover with SAR 433.99 million, whereas Alinma Bank’s stock registered the highest trading volume of 9.6 million shares.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, retreated 52.35 points, or 1.5%, to close at 3,468.87 points.

Baazeem Trading was Nomu’s worst performer after sliding 2.6%.
