Kaspersky to open Rwandan office to expand East Africa growth

Mubasher: Cybersecurity giant Kaspersky Lab unveiled plans to open a new office in Kigali, the Rwandan capital, to ramp up its rapidly growing operations in East Africa, according to the company’s statement on Tuesday.

The Kigali office will provide Kaspersky’s award-winning solutions and services to all sectors and all sorts of businesses in the African nation and the broader region.

The decision will offer more opportunities for development and closer ties to new partners in East Africa, while Kaspersky will be able to sustain its growth in the promising African market.

“Nations across the continent are adopting new technologies to facilitate and enhance the way they do business,” Kaspersky Lab’s managing director for Middle East, Turkey and Africa Amir Kanaan said.

The announcement came after the Russian company’s CEO Eugene Kaspersky met Rwandan Paul Kagame during the Transform Africa Summit.

“Governments and enterprises across Africa need an integrated approach to complex threat detection and response as they fight cybercriminals who have significant financial resources and are constantly looking to exploit any vulnerability,” Kaspersky said.
