TASI drops to lowest level since January at Sunday’s close
TASI’s turnover shrank to SAR 2.97 billion

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell by 170.97 points, or 2%, to close at 8,360.19 points on Sunday, hitting its lowest level since January.

TASI’s turnover shrank to SAR 2.97 billion on Sunday, compared to SAR 5.42 billion in the previous session, while the market’s traded volume tumbled to 106.22 million shares from 153.1 million on Thursday.

The food sector headed decliners after sliding 3.9%, followed by the banking and consumer services sectors which slipped by 2.4% and 1.87%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the basic materials and telecommunications sectors went down 1.78% and 1.76%, respectively.

On the other hand, the diversified financials sector rose by 0.26%.

Savola Group’s stock led fallers and declined by 6.17%, whereas Arabia Insurance Cooperative’s stock topped gainers after adding 9.8%.

Al Rajhi Bank’s stock spearheaded TASI in terms of turnover with SAR 562.48 million, while Dar Alarkan Real Estate Development’s stock registered the highest trading volume of 13.99 million shares.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, went down 6.12 points, or 0.17%, to finish the session at 3,523.65 points.

Development Works Food’s stock was Nomu’s worst performer with 2.2%, while Baazeem Trading’s stock was Nomu’s best performer after rising by 7.66%.
