Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index lost 103.79 points, or 1%, to 10,273.01 points in May, dragged down by six sectors.
Market capitalisation went down to QAR 568.08 billion ($157.86 billion) at the end of the month, compared to QAR 584.39 billion ($162.39 billion) the month before.
Over the month, a group of six sectors declined including the real estate sector, which dropped 17.17%, while the insurance sector sank 7.87%.
The telecommunication, banking, and transport sectors shed 3.89%, 2.5%, and 1.74%, respectively.
The QSE’s trading volume reached 439.51 million shares in May, while the market’s liquidity hit QAR 10.3 billion.

The QSE’s main index levelled up 542.49 points, or 5.58%, to 10,273.01 points in a week.
Over the week, market capitalisation rose to QAR 568.08 billion ($157.86 billion), compared to QAR 538.19 billion ($149.55 billion) a week earlier.
