Spanning over an area of 3.95 million square metres, the new project will include 714 buildings and about 23,100 housing units, the housing ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The project is scheduled to be 17% complete in June and 74% complete by June 2020, the statement added.
The overall project is expected to be finalised in December 2020.
With an area of nearly 170,000 acres, the New Administrative Capital aims to accommodate 6.5 million people.
