Egypt’s transport ministry set to launch 7 dry ports, logistic areas
The new projects are located in several cities including 10th of Ramadan city

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s transport minister Kamel El-Wazir announced that seven out of total nine dry ports and logistic areas are set to be launched in several new cities in the upcoming period.

The new projects will be located in a number of cities including 10th of Ramadan city, El-Sadat city, Borg El-Arab city, Sohag, Beni Suef, and 6th of October city, El-Wazir added during the fifth session of the ‘Builders of Egypt’ forum. 

Earlier in June, Egypt’s transportation ministry and public-private partnership (PPP) central unit affiliated to the finance ministry announced that they will receive technical and financial bids for the construction of the country’s first dry port in the industrial zone in 6th of October City starting from 11 July.

Spanning on an area of 100 acres, the project will serve ports of Alexandria and Dekheila and the industrial zone in 6th of October city.

It is noteworthy that the three consortiums that compete to win the contract for establishing this project are an alliance led by India’s Conkor and includes Singapore’s PSA and Hassan Allam Group, an alliance led by the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport and UAE’s DP World, and an alliance led by Elsewedy Electric and includes Shankar Egypt and 3A International.
