EU offers EUR 3.1m grant to revamp Egyptian Museum
This step came as part of the EUR 15 million programme

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt signed an agreement worth EUR 3.1 million with the European Union (EU) to revamp the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.   

This step came as part of the EUR 15 million comprehensive economic growth programme, Egypt’s investment minister, Sahar Nasr, said in a statement on Monday.

EU’s proposed allocations to Egypt for 2017-2020 are between EUR 432 million and EUR 528 million, Nasr added.

Total value of grants provided by the EU to Egypt to finance protecting and maintaining the country’s cultural heritage reached EUR 8 million, ambassador of the EU to Egypt, Ivan Surkoš, said.
