Mubasher: UK digital remittances firm WorldRemit launched new application features to facilitate overseas money transfers to recipients, according to a press release.

Remittance receivers in a range of countries, including Cameroon, will be able to create and access a WorldRemit remote account.

Now funds can be received immediately on recipients’ phones from more than 50 countries in multiple currencies including US dollars.

In addition, the new charge-free features include storing money in the application in multiple currencies.

Customers will also be able to withdraw funds at any time, using WorldRemit’s pay-out options, with cash pickup at more than 1,500 locations, bank transfer and mobile money wallet.

“Previously, only senders of WorldRemit transfers could select whether their money was received by bank deposit, collection as cash or mobile money transfer,” the London-based cash transfer company’s Africa and Middle East managing director Andrew Stewart said.
