Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is the eighth global and first regional largest fish farming producer with a total amount of 1.8 million tonnes, the country’s minister of agriculture, Ezz El-Din Abu Steit, said.
The North African nation adopts a strategy that aims to increase production to 2 million tonnes by 2030, he added.
According to this strategy, the average consumption of fish per capita is estimated to increase to 18.5 kilograms from 13 kilograms a year.
