Egypt’s car tax revenues hike 91% in 10M
Revenues from taxes and charges on cars stood at EGP 5.2 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s revenues from taxes and charges levied on vehicles surged by 91% during the first ten months of fiscal year 2018/2019, according to data released by the ministry of finance.

Revenues from taxes and charges on cars stood at EGP 5.2 billion from July 2018 to last April, compared to EGP 2.72 billion in the year-ago period.

The most populous Arab nation’s total tax revenues amounted to EGP 550.27 billion in the ten-month period ended 30 April from EGP 470.51 billion in the same period a year earlier.  

Tax revenue accounted for about 80% of the country’s total revenue which reached EGP 686.78 billion during the July-April period of FY18/19, compared to EGP 577.78 billion in the prior-year period.
