Riyadh – Mubasher: Najran Cement Company announced a temporary suspension of its second production line.

The capacity of the second production line stands at 3,000 tonnes per day, according to the company’s filing to the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, production will be resumed in the third line, with a total capacity of 6,500 tonnes a day, on 1 July due to a decrease in clinker inventory to levels commensurate with the company’s strategy.

“This will improve the operational efficiency of the Company,” the statement highlighted.

The move is expected to have a direct financial impact on the financial results of 2019.

“The expected direct financial impact as a result of this change on the financial year 2019 is a decrease in fixed costs by SR 5.7 million,” the statement added.
