August Nymex WTI grew $0.07, or 0.1%, to close at $57.83 per barrel.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iran criticised new US sanctions targeting the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader and other top officials, saying the measures spell the “permanent closure” for diplomacy between the two nations.
