Mubasher: Bitcoin dropped 12% on Thursday to around $11,383, after surging earlier in the week to $14,000, its highest level since 18 months, Reuters reported.
The world’s biggest digital currency has climbed in value since April, and has soared more than 260%.
However, it remained below its all-time peak of around $20,000 recorded in December 2017.
Facebook’s newly-announced cryptocurrency Libra has brought digital currencies back into the spotlight, as investors seeking safety have also raised the bitcoin.
