EGX ends Monday on negative note
Market capitalisation declined by EGP 2.6 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session in red territory. 

The benchmark EGX30 index slid by 0.32%, finishing the session at 13,627 points.

In the meantime, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went down 0.04% to close at 538 points, while the broader EGX100 index fell by 0.05% to 1,389 points.

On the other hand, the equal-weighted EGX50 index rose by 0.22% to end the session at 2,013 points.

Market capitalisation declined by EGP 2.6 billion to close at EGP 727.74 billion on Monday, compared to EGP 730.34 billion on Sunday.

Trading volume stood at 176.94 million securities exchanged at a turnover of 775.89 million through about 18,690 transactions. 

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 75.79 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 60.75 million and EGP 15.03 million, respectively.
