Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi topped emirates in the UAE in terms of capital value of public shareholding companies registered at the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) with AED 263.2 billion in 2018, state-run Emirates New Agency (WAM) reported.

Dubai and Sharjah came in the second and third places with AED 110.2 billion and AED 22.12 billion, respectively.

The capital value of local public shareholding companies registered at the SCA totalled AED 412 billion, including AED 190.4 billion for government companies and AED 221.5 billion for private companies.

Investment and financial services sector ranked first among local companies in terms of capital value, followed by banks, real estate, transportation, services, energy, insurance, and telecommunications.
