Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a positive note.
The benchmark EGX30 index climbed by 2.16%, finishing the session at 14,180 points.
Trading volume reached 282.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.4 billion.
At the end of its first day of trading, the stock of Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payments jumped by 31.3% to close at EGP 8.48 at a turnover of EGP 394.3 million.
In addition, the EGX announced the closure of the mandatory tender offer for shares of Global Telecom Holding (GTH) submitted by VEON Holdings B.V. at a combined value of EGP 9.72 billion.
The stock of GTH will be delisted from the EGX on 14 August.
