Eurozone growth loses momentum in Q2

Mubasher: Preliminary figures indicated that both of the Eurozone and the 28-member European Union (EU28) saw their gross domestic product (GDP) rising by 0.2% in the second quarter of 2019.

Growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2018 rose by 0.4% in the Eurozone and 0.5% in the EU28, the Eurozone’s statistical office, the Eurostat, said on Wednesday.

On an annual basis, GDP grew by 1.1% in the Eurozone in Q2-19, and 1.3% in the EU28, after gains of 1.2% and 1.65 respectively in Q1-19, according to the data.

By 9:10 am GMT, the EUR/USD pair inched up by 0.06% to $1.1178.
