Riyadh - Mubasher: Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical (PrefChem), a joint venture between Petronas and Saudi Aramco, has reportedly started the operation of a crude distillation unit at its oil refinery in Malaysia, informed sources told Reuters on Friday.
Crude oil was supplied to the distillation unit during the week, sources added.
Constituting a part of Petronas’ $27 billion Pengerang Integrated Complex, the Pengerang Refining development includes 300,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) oil refinery and a petrochemical complex with a production capacity of 7.7 million tonnes per year in the southern Malaysian state of Johor.
Saudi Aramco’s net income declined to $46.9 billion during the first six months of 2019, compared to $53 billion in the year-ago period.
