Blue-chip stocks weigh on DFM on Monday
The DFM’s general index slipped 6.29 points

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has closed Monday’s trading session on a negative note due to the continuous selling in some of the blue-chip stocks by traders.

The DFM’s general index slipped 6.29 points, or 0.22%, finishing the session at 2,790.71 points.

Trading volume amounted to 1.611 billion shares that were exchanged at a turnover of AED 1.507 billion through 1,872 transactions.

Market capitalisation shed AED 1.16 billion and closed the session at AED 365.767 billion.

The consumer staples sector topped decliners with 1.83%, followed by the real estate and the banks sectors that tumbled 1.01% and 0.01$, respectively.

On the other hand, the investment and financial services sector added 0.59% and the services sector went up 0.57%.

Blue-chip stocks, including DXB Entertainment, Damac Properties, and Emaar Properties fell by 2.13% to AED 0.23, 1.59% to AED 0.93, and 0.77% to AED 5.13, respectively.

Meanwhile, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Emirates NBD were stable at AED 5.12 and AED 11.55, respectively, while Dubai Investments, which went up by 0.76% to AED 1.33, was the sole riser.
