McDonald’s launches first seatless restaurant

Mubasher: McDonald’s launched a new type of restaurants in London, at the time when businesses are stepping up efforts to fulfil a growing consumer demand for speed and efficiency, Business Insider said.

The fast-food giant recently rolled out a new fleet of “McDonald’s to Go,” a restaurant that has no seating areas, décor nor furniture.

The new restaurant, where cashiers are replaced with electronic touchscreens, aims to serve its customers faster by exclusively offering takeout.

Moreover, the menu is also stripped down to McDonald’s staple items such as Big Macs, McNuggets and fries.

This is McDonald’s first new restaurant since the launch of drive-thru in the 1970s.
