Kuwait’s trade with EU states slows in 6M
The EU’s imports from Kuwait in H1-18 totalled EUR 1.14 billion

Mubasher: The European Union’s (EU) trade exchange with Kuwait has declined during the first half of 2019, compared to the year-ago period, according to recent official statistics.

Total EU’s imports from Kuwait were valued at EUR 1.25 billion ($1.38 billion) in H1-19 when compared to EUR 1.42 billion ($1.57 billion) in H1-18, with a 12% decline, KUNA quoted the European Statistical Office, the Eurostat.

Moreover, ‘’The EU’s imports from Kuwait in January to June of 2018 totalled EUR 1.14 billion ($1.26 billion), while in the first half of this year, European imports from Kuwait reached EUR 735.4 million ($815.4 billion)”, according to KUNA.

Meanwhile, total EU’s exports to Kuwait amounted to EUR 2.1 billion ($2.3 billion) in H1-19, lower than EUR 2.7 billion ($2.9 billion) in H1-18, according to the statistics.

Furthermore, ‘’Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials are the bulk of the EU’s imports from Kuwait, statistics showed, while machinery, transport equipment, chemicals and related products are its main export items to the Gulf State’’, KUNA added.
