Saudi gov’t appoints 1st ministerial spokeswoman

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s education minister, Hamad Al Alshaikh, has appointed the kingdom’s first ministry spokeswoman.

The new spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education, Ibtisam Hassan Al Shehri, will become the voice of over six million students and teachers in the different stages of the public education sector, according to an official statement released on Thursday.

Al Shehri is a graduate of Arabian Gulf University (AGU) and holder of a master’s degree in gifted education, the statement added.

She also has a 17-year experience in teaching English to students of all stages, including kindergarten, primary, intermediate, and secondary education.

The appointment of Al Shehri came in line with steps taken to realise Saudi Vision 2030 to enable and empower Saudi women.
