Mubasher: Oil futures settled lower on Thursday, as US natural gas stockpiles rose.

October Nymex WTI fell $0.33, or 0.6%, to close at $55.35 per barrel.

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that the US natural gas storage climbed by 59 billion cubic feet (Bcf) in the week ended 16 August, recording a total of 2,797 Bcf.
