Egypt’s state employees to move to new capital by early 2020
The new capital aims to host 6.5 million people

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s state employees will be moved gradually to the New Administrative Capital’s government district by the first quarter of 2020, the country’s deputy minister of housing Khaled Abbas said on the sidelines of a conference held in Cairo.

The new capital aims to accommodate 40,000 to 50,000 state employees in the first phase to reach 100,000 by the end of the first three years.  

Previously, the official spokesman of Egypt’s New Administrative Capital said that about 60% to 70% of facilities and infrastructure works at the first phase of the new capital have been completed.

Situated over 170,000 feddans, the new capital aims to host 6.5 million people, in addition to creating 2 million jobs.
