Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government is planning to secure a $750 million loan from the government of Japan for the technical support of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), according to an official statement.
Egypt’s antiquities minister, Khaled El-Anani, has discussed the potential technical support that may be introduced by Japan to the GEM, following its opening, during a meeting with Japanese ambassador, Masaki Noke.
Described as the largest archaeological museum in the world, the GEM is still under construction and is planning to be opened in the fourth quarter of 2020.
