EGX30 ends Tuesday 1.4% down; market cap loses EGP 10bn
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 78.89 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a negative note.

The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 1.45% to close the mid-week trading session at 14,752 points.

In addition, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index retreated 1.43% to 542.63 points, while the broader EGX100 index declined by 1.61% to 1,443 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index slid by 2.54% to 2,109 points.

Market capitalisation lost about EGP 10.4 billion to EGP 738.7 billion on Tuesday, compared to EGP 749.1 billion on Monday.

Trading volume amounted to 334.79 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.28 billion through about 30,660 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 78.89 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 30.23 million and EGP 48.65 million, respectively.
