Ras Al Khaimah breaks arrivals record with 118,000 visitors in August
Domestic visitor arrivals to the emirate increased by 8.4%

UAE - Mubasher: Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) on Wednesday announced that the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah broke the arrivals record with nearly 118,000 visitors in August 2019.

Visitors to Ras Al Khaimah grew by 5% year-to-date, reaching 117,995 visitors last August, according to a press release.

Domestic visitor arrivals to the emirate increased by 8.4%, the release said.

Month-to-date, international markets including Poland, Russia, India, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic contributed to the record-breaking number of visitors by 26.6%, 25.3%, 13.7%, 9% and 8.3%, respectively, in August.

Meanwhile, hotels and resorts reported an increase of 3.7% in occupied rooms, with occupancy rates seeing a 3.1% year-on-year growth.

Nearly 118,000 visitors have chosen to explore Ras Al Khaimah and experience the diversity of its landscapes and offering from pristine beaches, undulating terracotta desert, to awe-inspiring vistas of the majestic Hajar mountains, including the country’s highest peak – Jebel Jais”.

RAKTDA aims to make appealing offerings over the coming three years to attract up to 1.5 million visitors by 2021 and 3 million visitors by 2025.
