Mubasher: Kuwait has gained a seat at the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) board of governors in the 63rd Annual Regular Session of the Agency's General Conference, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The membership of the GCC country in the board of governors will last for two years, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Austria, Sadeq Marafi, said.
The awarding of Kuwait's membership in IAEA’s board of governors is a recognition of the country’s role as an active participant in the international agency, Marafi added.
In 1964, Kuwait joined IAEA and has played a role in promoting peaceful uses of atomic energy.
