Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait will witness the final upgrade in S&P Dow Jones Indices of emerging markets on Monday, 23 September.

Boursa Kuwait will not receive any major foreign inflows before May 2020, provided that it meets the required upgrade conditions in November 2019, capital market analyst Ahmed Jassim Al Qamar told Mubasher.

Al Qamar further highlighted that 22 firms have joined S&P Emerging Markets Index on 19 September, including the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), Kuwait Finance House (KFH), the Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK), Mobile Telecommunications (Zain), and Agility Public Warehousing.

Boursa Kuwait will join S&P officially, on Monday, as per the closing prices of Thursday’s trading session.

In June 2019, Boursa Kuwait was upgraded to emerging market status by MSCI, following its promotion by FTSE and S&P Dow Jones Indices.
