Mubasher: Investcorp, the leading provider and manager of alternative investment products, said that it has led an $11.2 million investment in Bewakoof Brands Private Limited, with IndigoEdge being Bewakoof’s advisor for the deal.  

Founded in India eight years ago, Bewakoof Brands became one of the major direct to consumer online apparel companies, creating unique, affordable, and creative fashion for trendy and contemporary Indians. Bewakoof’s fashion resonates with millennials across India, according to a press release.    

With strong capabilities in design, supply chain, and an active digital customer platform, Bewakoof succeeded to bring ‘’a robust brand offering’’, selling more than 650,000 products per month, in addition to having a customer base of over four million who often repeat purchases.

In this regard, Prabhkiran Singh, co-Founder and director of Bewakoof Brands said, ‘’At Bewakoof.com, the customer is at the centre of everything we do, and we remain committed to providing quality and creative fashion to the youth at an unmatched value. Furthermore, Investcorp has raised a new fund worth INR 1,000 crore in its maiden India-focused private equity fund among four other companies. The fund targets investment opportunities across three key sectors, namely mass-market consumer, financial services, and healthcare.

Managing over $28 billion investments globally, ‘’The private equity business of Investcorp has around 40 years of mid-market investing experience across the North America, Europe and the MENA region with more than US $36 billion of transaction value in almost 200 investments across retail, consumer products, technology, business services and industrials,’’ the press release said.
