Abu Dhabi Digital Authority launches AI Lab to boost gov’t efficiency
AI Lab aims at developing innovative digital solutions using AI and machine learning

UAE - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) announced the launch of its latest initiative ‘Artificial Intelligence Lab’.

The AI Lab aims at developing innovative digital solutions using AI and machine learning to boost services efficiency and contribute to excellence in government performance, according to a press release by the Dubai-based public relations agency Orient Planet Group (OPG).

The recently showcased initiative at GITEX Technology Week, which took place in Dubai from 6 to 10 October 2019, is part of ADDA’s strategy to apply advanced technologies in developing innovative digital solutions for various government services in collaboration with Abu Dhabi government entities.

The employment of cutting-edge technologies will help ADDA to push Abu Dhabi’s digital future toward as a leading global hub for technological innovation.

“The ’AI lab’ offers high-performance computing abilities and has been made available for all Abu Dhabi government entities as a service, where users can access the platform and have the opportunity to know more about Machine Learning techniques, develop simulation and predictive models with their data sets, engage with AI experts, and experiment with Data Sets for Data Visualization,” the release highlighted.

This initiative was launched after ADDA signed an agreement with IBM in March 2019 to explore ways of cooperation in several fields, including improving government work at all levels based on AI solutions.

Rauda Al Saadi, director-general of ADDA, said: “The ‘Artificial Intelligence Lab’ will serve as an integrated platform for learning, analysis and exchange of expertise and knowledge in various fields of AI in line with the Emirate’s commitment to invest in human capital and continuously develop the skills and capabilities of government staff.”

She also highlighted the importance of reinforcing strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors in the field of digital technology as part of the emirate’s efforts in paving the way for a digitally-empowered generation.
