UAE-Vietnam non-oil intra-trade hits $8.2bn in 2018
The two nations aim at reinforcing their economic ties

UAE – Mubasher: Total non-oil intra-trade between the UAE and Vietnam valued at over $8.2 billion in 2018, the UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoor said.

Vietnam is the UAE’s largest Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ (ASEAN) trading partner, Al Mansoor added in a statement released by the UAE Ministry of Economy.

The two nations aim at reinforcing their economic ties and continuing their collaboration efforts in several fields at a rapid and sustainable pace, he indicated.

This came on the sidelines of a bilateral meeting held between Al Mansoori and the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung in Hanoi on Tuesday during the UAE delegation's visit to Vietnam to attend the UAE-Vietnam Trade and Investment Week in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.

“We look forward to strengthening joint efforts with Vietnam to increase trade and expand existing UAE investments across new sectors, particularly those supporting the knowledge economy, innovation-related areas and food security, as well as developing a business model,” Al Mansoori said.

For his part, Trinh Dinh Dung stressed that his country is committed to participating in Expo 2020 Dubai as it is an ideal opportunity for companies to showcase Vietnam’s products and businesses.
