ATM 2020 to unlock potential tourism opportunities for leading Middle East destinations
ATM 2020 will be held from 19 to 22 April 2020

Mubasher: Arabian Travel Market 2020 (ATM) announced the launch of a new series of buyer forums and networking events with the aim to spotlight on India, Saudi Arabia, China, and Russia’s growing outbound potential.

This came as a result of GCC travel and tourism companies’ intentions to attract a larger share from these major source markets, according to a press release.

These new forums and events aim at exploring potential opportunities that the growing tourism markets in India, Saudi Arabia, China and Russia display while advising travel, tourism, and hospitality professionals on how to cater to these key markets.

It is worth noting that the ATM 2020 will be held from 19 to 22 April 2020 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Following the successful launch of the ‘Arabia China Tourism Forum’ at ATM 2019, the ATM 2020 is expected to attract 150 hosted buyers from India, China, Russia and the Middle East as part of the networking sessions.

Moreover, the ATM will enter a partnership with CBN Travel & MICE once again to bring an additional 84 new buyers from China.

Danielle Curtis, exhibition director ME, ATM, said: “Identifying the key players in the top source markets, along with current and emerging industry trends are two of the most valuable insights ATM has to offer. Therefore, the 2020 edition will continue to follow that successful model with a packed agenda, including new forums and networking opportunities as well as an engaging seminar programme.”

In a research conducted by Colliers International, in partnership with ATM, the number of Indian visitors travelling to the UAE is likely to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7% to 3.01 million by 2023.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors from Saudi Arabia to the UAE will increase by 2% to 1.76 million during by 2023, according to Colliers.

The data also showed that the number of Russian arrivals to the UAE is likely to grow at a CAGR of 12% to 1.6 million by 2013, while the Chinese arrivals are predicted to increase at a CAGR of 8% to 1.27 million during the same period.

“Over recent years in particular, sentiment at ATM has reflected the growth in these tourists to the Middle East and as we look ahead to the 2020 edition of the show we are seeing more hotel and travel professionals than ever before eager to capitalise on the significant opportunities presented by these key markets,” Curtis noted.

In 2019, the ATM has welcomed almost 40,000 people, displaying representations from 150 countries, as well as more than 100 exhibitors making their debut at the 2019 event.
