Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of finance Mohamed Maait has launched the national project for digitisation of unified tax procedures.

This move aims to encourage the informal sector to join the formal economy, fight tax evasion, and enhance the country’s tax payment system, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Finance on Monday.

The tax system is being modernised and digitised in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Administrative Control Authority (ACA), IBM, e-finance, SAP, Ernst & Young, and ICIS, Maait noted.
