Mubasher: Uber’s former CEO Travis Kalanick sold around 20% of his stake in the US ride-hailing giant, according to a regulatory filing.
Kalanick sold 20.3 million shares worth almost $547 million, held in trust, according to a Friday financial filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
He owns roughly 75.4 million Uber shares worth more than $2 billion.
This followed the end of the so-called “lockup period” a 180-day restriction on insider and early investor sales after Uber’s initial public offering (IPO), with a valuation of $82.4 billion.
Kalanick was ousted as Uber’s CEO in 2017 during a tumultuous time for the company that included allegations of gender discrimination and toxic workplace conditions.
