Saudi Aramco plans to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh

Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Aramco plans to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh as part of a $3 billion deal signed last month, Reuters reported.

Aramco and ACWA Power signed a deal with Bangladesh Power Development Board to develop a 3,600-megawatt LNG power plant and an onshore regasification terminal.

Aramco will supply the LNG and build the LNG terminal to store the LNG, while ACWA will build the power station, Reuters quoted Adviser to Bangladeshi Prime Minister as saying.

“Saudi Aramco’s long term strategy is to become a leading global LNG player,” Amin Nasser, Aramco CEO said after the company signed an agreement with Sempra LNG back in May.
