Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s unemployment rate grew 0.3% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2019, declining on a yearly basis.

The North African country’s unemployment rate reached 7.8% in Q3-19, compared to 7.5% in Q2-19 and 10% a year earlier, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Manpower reached 28.406 million in Q3-19, including 12.381 million in urban areas and 16.025 million in rural areas, against 28.069 million in the previous quarter.

Moreover, the number of unemployed individuals in Egypt recorded 2.212 million in the three-month period ended 30 September, including 1.092 million males and 1.12 females.

Egypt is planning to increase its GDP to EGP 7.15 trillion ($443.17 billion) in the fiscal year 2020-2021, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance.
