UAE – Mubasher: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is now ready to host the UAE 5G Conference in Dubai that will take place during the period from 8 to 9 December 2019 with wide international participation.

Top technology leaders, regulators, and experts will share their 5G-related knowledge and expertise, while further addressing the technology's challenges and prospects. Moreover, the conference is expected to gather over 500 participants from more than 50 countries, said a press release on Monday.

The conference aims to discuss 5G-technology facts, uses, and impact on human life, whether economically or socially. This comes in light of the 5G’s current position as the most prominent development in the field of communications, bringing the applications of the smart city such as Internet of Things (IoT) and big data to light.

The UAE 5G Conference will also present the field’s latest experiences, developments, and opportunities, along with the standards governing a safer environment for the technology and the future of the Arab region in this regards.

Meanwhile, TRA’s director general, Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, said, “In line with the leadership directives aimed at enhancing the UAE position as the first open global laboratory for the implementation of projects associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we have been keen to be one of the first countries to use 5G, and harness these new technologies in achieving the national goals, and provide the best, fastest and most developed services."

It is worthy to mention that in October 2019, the UAE was ranked the first in the Arab region and the fourth globally in the launch and use of 5G networks, according to the Global Connectivity Index, issued by Carphone Warehouse.
