Dubai – Mubasher: Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of United Technologies, has signed a ten-year support agreement with Etihad Airways for 72 aircraft of Boeing 787-9 model through the asset management software, Dispatch SM.

Delivered by Collins Aerospace, the asset software provides high-level aviation electronics and communication technologies for customers around the world, marking the first service performance-based software programme offered by Collins Aerospace to Etihad Airways, said a press release on Tuesday.

Under the agreement, the US firm will provide important critical on-site spares, in addition to electronics-related technical support and maintenance services including upgrades. Moreover, the Emirati firm will have access to the worldwide assets pools of Boing 787.  

Chief operating officer for the Etihad Aviation Group, Mohammad Al Bulooki, commented, “The Boeing 787 is the flagship aircraft of Etihad Airways, comprising more than one-third of our fleet." 

Collins Aerospace will provide its unmatched product knowledge based on its experience an integrated provider of Boing 787’s flight deck display system, crew-alerting system, experimental controllers, components, and any other important electronic software available on board.     

Meanwhile, Craig Bries, vice president and general manager, Avionics Service and Support for Collins Aerospace, added, “Our Dispatch programme reduces the need for spares inventory, saving the airline money, and improves aircraft availability by ensuring avionics quality and reliability."
