EGX ends Wednesday mixed; CIB drops 1.6%
Market cap shrank by EGP 1.6 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a varied note.

The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.62% to close at 14,224 points from 14,313 points on Tuesday.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell by 1.57% to EGP 80.7, after generating a turnover of EGP 58.7 million.

On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index rose by 0.85% to 540 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up by 0.42% to 1,427 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index increased by 0.12% to close at 2,064 points.

Market cap shrank by EGP 1.6 billion to EGP 715.29 billion.

Trading volume stood at 188 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 601 million through about 17,300 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 839.9 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 822.11 million and EGP 17.8 million, respectively.
