Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session on a negative note, with its benchmark EGX30 index falling by 0.38% to 13,442 points.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) retreated 0.15% to EGP 77.4, after generating a turnover of EGP 189.7 million.
In the meantime, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged down 0.14% to 523 points, while the broader EGX100 index declined by 0.22% to 1,369 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index dropped by 0.44% to 1,945 points.
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 441.5 million, distributed over 65.16 million shares exchanged through nearly 11,900 transactions.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.69 billion to close at EGP 692.88 billion.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 55.3 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 51.17 million and EGP 4.14 million, respectively.
