Dubai ministry plans AED 10bn projects from 2017 to 2021
The projects will meet the needs of various regions across the UAE

Dubai – Mubasher: The Emirati Ministry of Infrastructure Development aims to execute 36 projects as part of its plan for 2017 to 2021, within the scope of its investment programme, the UAE infrastructure development minister, Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, stated.

Estimated at a total cost of AED 10 billion, the projects cover several segments, including security, education, health and services, in addition to federal road and maintenance projects, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The projects were introduced to meet the needs of various areas across the UAE while keeping pace with its rapid growth.

Moreover, the budget set for the projects is divided between implementing and maintaining government buildings at a value of AED 6.62 billion, in addition to AED 3.38 billion for the construction and maintenance of federal roads, and AED 780 million earmarked to four road implementation projects.

In addition, new six health centres and hospitals will be opened at a cost of AED 350 million, along with AED 525 million for projects related to security building, AED 600 million for four new schools, and AED 152 million for five public government buildings.

It is noteworthy that the ministry has collaborated with its strategic partners to create and develop “an advanced spatial infrastructure system” with the aim to reinforce the UAE’s position in global competitiveness indexes, Al Nuaimi concluded.
