American JV COOEC-Fluor completes module programme for Kuwaiti project

Mubasher: American multinational engineering and construction firm Fluor Corporation has announced that its joint venture COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries completed the entire module programme for the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) Al-Zour project in Kuwait.

The China-based fabrication yard, COOEC-Fluor, delivered 188 modules in 20 separate shipments with a combined weight of 65,000 metric tonnes, according to a press release published on Tuesday.

“The COOEC-Fluor yard completed the modular programme over a period of 24 months from the start of steel fabrication to load out of the last modules,” the yard’s vice president and director of operations, Chris Vertanness, said.

COOEC-Fluor has shipped the final module shipment of 8,600 metric tonnes was to the project site in Kuwait.

“The COOEC-Fluor team has accomplished numerous fabrication and logistics milestones on this project working closely with the Fluor-led joint venture team, and I look forward to continuing to show the world what our yard can do,” Vertanness commented.

Fluor is leading a JV that delivers two engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction packages for key process support units, utilities, and infrastructure for the Al-Zour refinery project in Kuwait.
