Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt injected EGP 944 million into the first phase of “Hayat Karima” (A Decent Life) initiative during fiscal year 2018/2019, assistant minister of planning Gamil Helmy said.
A total of 53 slums, accommodating about 171,000 families, were developed during the last fiscal year under “Sakan Karim” (Decent Housing) initiative, Helmy added in a statement on Wednesday.
This is part of the Egyptian-German Participatory Development Programme in Urban Areas (PDP) which aims to improve living conditions for the urban poor in the most populous Arab nation.
