Remittances from Egyptians in UAE rise $164m in Q3-19
Money transfers from Egyptians living in the GCC nation rose to AED 2.6 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: Remittances from Egyptians living in the UAE increased by AED 600 million ($164 million) during the third quarter of 2019, according to a report released by the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower.

Money transfers from Egyptians living in the GCC nation rose to AED 2.6 billion in the three-month period ended 30 September, compared to AED 2 billion in the year-ago period, the Egyptian manpower minister, Mohamed Saafan, said.

According to official data released by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), remittances from expats living in the UAE totalled AED 43.41 billion during Q3-19.

Indians topped the list with AED 17.41 billion, making up 40.1% of total remittances from expats in the UAE, followed by Pakistanis, Filipinos, and Egyptians with AED 4.42 billion, AED 3.17 billion, and AED 2.6 billion, respectively.

Remittances from expatriate Egyptians living in the UAE reached AED 6.6 billion in 2016, AED 8.5 billion in 2017, and AED 8.7 billion in 2018.
